A great opportunity to meet members of the conservation team who are working on Victory Live: The Big Repair project. During these informal hourly sessions, you will be able to learn more about their roles and how it benefits this once-in-a-lifetime project to fight the impact of moisture, fungus, and pests threatening HMS Victory.
Join us from July 29th to August 30th, 2024 (excluding August 26th), for an exciting journey into the world of HMS Victory's restoration at Victory Live: The Big Repair! Meet our friendly conservation team during informal hourly sessions and discover how they protect the ship from moisture, fungus, and pests.
Every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the summer holidays, our expert shipwrights will show you how caulking works from 11am to 12 noon. This traditional technique uses tar-soaked rope fibers to seal wooden seams—a must-try activity where visitors of all ages can test their shipbuilding skills with wooden mallets and metal tools.
