Join us for a summer of exciting STEM activities at our Portsmouth and Gosport sites that that will unveil the science, engineering, and technology behind the Royal Navy.

Calling all budding scientists!

Dive into a world of discovery with engaging activities, fascinating demonstrations, and intriguing trails. The Little STEM Explorers play zone will offer a fun and interactive space for young minds to explore and learn.

Imagine yourself embarking on a captivating Minecraft adventure set aboard HMS Victory, currently undergoing a meticulous restoration to safeguard its rich history. Your mission: rid the ship of pesky silverfish without causing any harm to its venerable structure.

As you navigate through the specially crafted Minecraft world, designed in collaboration with Superbeam and PHD Access, you’ll unravel clues that lead you to the silverfish nesting sites. These elusive pests spawn from blocks like stone bricks, lurking within the ship and its surroundings.

Armed with a trusty pickaxe and sword, you carefully excavate the infested blocks, triggering swarms of silverfish that swarm towards you. Swiftly, you fend off the creatures, mindful to minimize any inadvertent damage to the ship’s delicate framework.

Once victorious, dive deeper into the real-world restoration efforts by visiting “Victory Live: The Big Repair“. Here, immerse yourself in an exhibit that chronicles the meticulous work being done to preserve this maritime icon. Engage in a block-themed trail around the scaffolding, discovering insights into the restoration techniques and the ship’s storied past.

Embark on this virtual journey to appreciate the significance of HMS Victory and the dedication required to protect its legacy for future generations.
