Andrew Burnett
Trustee of the NMRN Main Board and the Chair of the Collections, Research, Learning and Acquisitions Committee (CRLA), and a member of the Audit and Governance Committee
Andrew was the Deputy Director of the British Museum, having spent his previous career in the museum’s Department of Coins and Medals. He is a specialist in the coinage of the Romans, and is a Trustee of the Royal Mint Museum and the American Numismatic Society.
Since he retired from the Museum he has held other roles, including being a Trustee of the Royal Armouries. He applied to be a Trustee of the NMRN as a way of ‘giving something back’, because he has experience of the issues facing national museums today, and he admires the NMRN’s ambition of taking on big projects like HMS Victory, HMS Trincolamee, HMS Warrior and HMS Caroline.
