We are pleased to announce that Andrew Baines has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Museum Operations at the National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN).
Andrew brings a wealth of experience to this role, and we are confident that his unique skills and insights will contribute significantly to the future success of the Museum. Andrew joined NMRN as Curator on HMS Victory 13 years ago and has taken on a number of roles in that time, including his latest as Associate Executive Director: Heritage and Strategic Programmes.
When asked about his new role, Andrew shared, “I’m incredibly excited about this opportunity. It’s a pivotal time to join the leadership team, as we work with the Board to develop a new strategy for the Museum. Being an internal appointee, I have a deep appreciation for the strengths of our teams. However, I’m committed to visiting all sites and engaging with our teams to gain fresh perspectives on the challenges ahead. I look forward to hearing from everyone on how I can best support the work we are doing.”
