Come and learn about how the Royal Navy uses sounds when communicating and navigating across the seas.

In this Little Explorers session, we explore the science of sound by investigating how instruments make sounds in different ways.

We kick things off by warming up our senses with a little mystery—what’s hiding inside our surprise bag?
Next, we dive into an exciting story that brings sound to life, followed by an energizing warm-up that gets us moving, shaking, and making noise.

Then, it’s time to get hands-on with three STEAM activities, where we’ll discover how sounds are made. To wrap it all up, we come together for our crowd-favorite Little STEAMers Song, leaving everyone humming, buzzing, and excited!

These free sessions need to be prebooked which you can do via the link below, please note you will need a valid museum ticket for access to this event.

Session times are:

  • 11:00 – for three-year-olds
  • 11:55 –  for four & five-year-olds
  • 13:05 – for four & five-year-olds
