Exploring some of the science of the Sounds of the Sea through family-friendly, drama-based activities – and writing a collaborative soundscape poem!
What does the sea really sound like? Which noises come from nature, and which are made by humans? How do marine mammals use echolocation—and how does that compare to submarine sonar? And what about the mysterious underwater sounds we can’t even hear?
Join us for a lively, hands-on workshop packed with drama-based activities to explore the science of the sea’s soundscape! But that’s not all—you’ll also help create a one-of-a-kind, collaborative poem celebrating the ocean’s incredible noises. The Sounds of the Sea has even specially developed by As Creatives one of the UK’s leading providers of creative education programmes. As Creatives has worked directly with close to two million children, both right across the UK and in the Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, Poland, the Republic of Ireland, Spain and Turkey.
