Exploring Microplastics: Hands-On Demonstrations
Visit our stand to see microplastics in action and learn about their impact on the environment. We’ll demonstrate how to:
- Separate microplastics from sediment collected at a local beach
See microfibres up close as they leach from clothing during a wash
Use microscopes to spot microplastics—even on yourself
Children can take part by drawing plastic items they’ve used that day and brainstorming alternatives. We’ll also showcase Revolution Plastics’ work on the Global Plastics Treaty and its role in tackling pollution.
A live marine tank will highlight local biodiversity and how plastic affects our oceans. Come explore, learn, and take action!
This drop in event is free with a valid museum ticket and runs from 10am - 3pm
