Step aboard HMS Warrior for another unforgettable Pickle Night, where history, tradition, and camaraderie come together in a truly nautical celebration.
Join us as we commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar and the legendary HMS Pickle, the swift vessel that carried news of victory—and the loss of Admiral Lord Nelson—to British shores.
What is a Pickle Night?
Pickle Night honours the arrival of HMS Pickle, delivering news of the victory of the Battle of Trafalgar and the death of Admiral Lord Nelson. This festive occasion, observed on and around 4th November, celebrates the fastest ship at Trafalgar.
Event Highlights:
- Entertainment: Your lively host will bring the Battle of Trafalgar to life with thrilling tales, sea shanties, and traditional naval banter. Audience participation is encouraged!
- Traditional Dining: Experience life below deck as you dine at authentic mess tables, enjoying a hearty two-course meal of beef or veggie stew, followed by a classic sticky toffee pudding.
- Drink Like a Sailor: Your meal includes a glass of IPA, wine, or a soft drink, along with a tot of rum for the traditional toast. Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.
- Commemorative Toast: Raise a glass in honour of Pickle Night and take home a special keepsake glass as a treasured memento of your evening aboard HMS Warrior.
- Event Photography: A professional photographer will be capturing unforgettable moments throughout the night, including fun group shots. You’ll have the option to purchase your group photo on the night, which will be emailed to you after the event.
- Pop-Up Shop: Looking for the perfect souvenir? Our exclusive pop-up shop will be open onboard, offering a selection of naval memorabilia and fine rum.
Etiquette and fun:
- Master at Arms: All proceedings will be led by our host, Martin Jakeman who plays the Master at Arms. He will set the evening's etiquette, communicated right from the start. To find out more about Martin, please visit: www.martinjakeman.co.uk.
- Crew Roles: Experience the life of a sailor as attendees are organised into Gun Crews per table, each led by a Gun Captain. Each crew member will be assigned a specific role for the night. Click here to view our handy crew role profiles guide for more information.
- Dress Code: White trousers, blue and white striped top, straw boater hat with (optional) HMS Pickle cap tally

Please note, that Pickle Night is designed for participants aged 18 and over
Dining will be a choice of veggie or beef stew, followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know on the ticket order form where our caterers will be able to accommodate accordingly.
Not at all! The dress code is encouraged but entirely optional.
We welcome all guests onboard and have taken steps to make the experience as safe and accessible as possible. However, as a historic ship, there may be some challenges for certain visitors.

Unfortunately, our event tickets are non-refundable. However, you may transfer your ticket to a friend or family member if you are unable to attend. If you purchase a mess table, your group of 10 will be seated together at one table. If you book individual tickets, you may be seated with another group.
