Our beautifully recreated Georgian seaport will be the first thing your guests will see as they make their way to your event, creating a totally unique first impression.  

This historic maritime setting provides flexible venue options that suit your needs. Our Sir William Gray Suite is large enough to accommodate up to 140 guests, whilst our Wardroom can provide a more intimate atmosphere for up to 24 people, providing flexibility for large and small gatherings. With ample parking available this is an easily accessible site with all the benefits of a central location, whilst feeling completely set apart with serene waterside views.

    Sir William Gray Suite

    The Sir William Gray Suite is the larger of our venue hire spaces, making it perfect for private and corporate parties, large conferences, drinks receptions, and much more. 

    With available audiovisual equipment and a wide range of seating arrangements, this space is customisable to your needs, giving you endless options when planning your event.

    Ward Room

    The second of our available spaces, the Ward Room is perfect for smaller conferences or as a break out room.

    Elegantly decorated and comfortable, this is a fantastic space to meet and work with colleagues outside of the bustle of the office environment.

Our events team can advise you on all aspects of your event, including catering options from tea & coffee packages to buffet lunches. For more information about our venue, our equipment and services provided by the Museum, please discuss your requirements with our Events Manager who will be pleased to advise you further. All prices are indicative of venue hire only and do not include either in-house or contract catering.

By car:
From the north, take A19 southbound and exit at the A179. From the South, take A1M northbound and exit at junction 49 (A168/A19) signposted Teesside. Follow the brown and white signs for ‘NMRN Hartlepool’ which will lead you to our large, free of charge car park.

Public transport:
The nearest train station is Hartlepool, which is then a short taxi ride or 10 minute walk to our venue. 
 

We welcome all guests to our venue spaces and we have tried to make it as safe as possible. However, some of our spaces are historic buildings and ships, and we know that there can be challenges for some guests.

For those who believe they will be limited, please discuss any accessibility requirements with your Event Manager who will be able to advise and we can provide on-site additional support if needed.

Yes, we are able to offer discount if you are a military personnel wishing to book one of our venues. Please let our Event Manager know upon enquiry and they will be able to discuss this with you in more detail.

We are able to offer discounted group tickets to one or all of our attractions at Portsmouth and Gosport to be part of your hire. If you'd like to add this option to your booking, then please discuss this with your Event Manager who will be able to help build you a bespoke offer.
